School Caretaker

\n - Hourly Rate: £19.00 (Umbrella) / £16.00 (PAYE)
\n - Location: Hackney, East London
\n - Job Type: Working Monday to Friday 7.30am to 3.30pm

We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join a vibrant school located near Hackney, East London. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on and has a passion for maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment.
\n
Day-to-day of the role:
\n
\n - Locking up the site, setting the alarm
\n - Conducting weekly fire alarm checks and maintaining safety protocols
\n - Performing general repairs and maintenance tasks within the school
\n - Unblocking sinks and toilets, fixing door and window handles
\n - Carrying out painting and decorating tasks as needed
\n - Replacing toilet seats, putting up shelves, and pin boards
\n - Conducting daily health and safety checks to ensure a secure environment for students and staff
\n - Overseeing contractors on site and ensuring work is completed to standards
\n - Providing porterage services, moving furniture, and delivering parcels around the building
\n - Litter picking, sweeping up leaves, emptying bins, and replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and hand sanitizer
\n - Maintaining the school grounds and performing all other duties as required
\n

Required Skills & Qualifications:
\n
\n - Previous experience in a caretaker or maintenance role is preferred
\n - Ability to perform physical tasks and handle various handyperson duties
\n - Knowledge of health and safety regulations
\n - Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
\n - Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility
\n - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
